too much tech!
Watching tv I saw a commercial for a new Gillette razor that you put a battery in and it's supposed to help get a closer shave. WTF!? I mean, why not just get an electric shaver?
I love technology and I must admit, I am a tech junkie, with loads of stuff in my bag and tons of crap in the drawer. But lately I've been noticing that companies are putting 'tech' in everything they can, to increase margins or something. Whatever the reason, it's getting really annoying. My personal space has gotten over run with this crap, and you know what? People have gotten ruder!
A couple of things is wi-fi and mobile phones. First off, wi-fi. As much as I love this and as much as I use it, I beleive that there is a time and place for this stuff. Coffee shops, great place to have it. When's a bad time to use it? When you have company! I've noticed so many times people are just sitting at the coffee shop surfing the net and their friend is sitting there watching whatever they are doing. Whats the point? Talk to the person and don't compose emails and surf the net.
Mobile phones has definitely gotten to be a necessary evil in our lives. Necessary because it keeps us in contact with whomever we need to be intouch with, evil, because of the same reason. But it really gets me when people talk loudly on the phone in public places, thinking that they are alone or something, especially when talking about some personal issues....you know what? I don't care if you have herpes! I don't care if you forgot to wipe your ass! Shut the heck up! And next time you talk in the movie theater, I am going to shove that phone so far up your ass that your head will ring!
This is why I try and spend some tech down time. No phone, no ipod, no laptop, no internet, nothing. Just me, my dog, my book and whatever quiet place I can find. Not even a park does, so lately I've decided to just chill on my front lawn.
Let's get back to the basics. A razor doesnt need batteries. Just need shaving gel, lather, and shave.
